The board statistics show that the "most users ever online was 267 on Jun 28 2007, 07:56AM." Why were there so many users here at that time?

An interesting question.
In those days NCCF was hosted on the old sino-economy.com domain (after it was transferred from the old China Rules site which is still on line as an archive. We were just a lot busier then and hopefully we will be again.)
Why it was so much busier then? wish I knew!!

Didn't Imp explain to you before you banned him? You need controversies to keep a discussion running.

True, but the Imp had become something of a pantomime villain, while what we need is somebody able to produce sophisticated arguments counter to the prevailing pro PRC viewpoint of this forum. It does not need to be a pro US viewpoint either, an independent pro KMT viewpoint putting forward a wholly different vision of China in its own right, should be just as effective, if not actually more effective than somebody simply arguing for the US and US values

And I thought it was because we got Digged or something... Getting on the Digg.com frontpage bring tens of thousands of views and quite often will overload the server.
