The May 12 Wenchuan Earthquake has claimed the lives of many people and caused much destruction to various parts of Sichuan Province. However, Chengdu city is still as beautiful as before. In July 2008, Sichuan TV Staion recorded this clip to showcase the scenery in Chengdu to viewers with a different approach. SPICY CHENGDU has take the initiative to add English subtitles to the clip, so that you will have a better idea of the various places in Chengdu. Enjoy!

Stunning and beautiful. It also helped that I was listening to Tangerine Dreams "Oasis" Soundtrack on the headphones which matched the video perfectly
Chengdu looks spectacularly modern, more so than I was expecting for a Interior Capital, even a major one like Sichaun.

I am glad that you have enjoyed the video. In fact, the meaning of the Chinese characters "Cheng Du" is "becoming the capital".

Becoming the Capital? That rather suggests a history! or is it a name from centuries ago, rather like we have in Britain with Medieval structures still known as "NewBridge" etc.
If you have any more cityscape videos pleas post them as I can watch this sort of thing all day
